6th Year Guild Wars Anniversary date
Bit of an intriguing one this since the sweet treats weekend falls on and in about the same time as the last 2 years of the anniversary event started and finished on the 29th of April.
Im curious to see if the anniversary event will be given more of a priority. Or would the sweet treats weekend (golden eggs, chocolate bunnie drops) will be done this weekend? For all we know they might drop both of these events in at the same time/weekend (Easter weekend).
Still I wonder if anyone knows anything about this, in terms of when it starts etc.

One hopes we will get a clue today. ANet used to be pretty regular about getting the weekend event notices up on Tuesdays. Sadly, this seems to have slipped in recent months to the point we are lucky if we even have an announcement before the event begins.
This doesn't matter too much when we can look up the past pattern of weekends and be fairly confident we know what the event will be anyway, but there is no confidence in this case. A pre-announcement will certainly help those of us who like to plan our weekend play time.

my take...the easter stuff will be the weekend before ending on monday 25th, and anniversary stuff to begin on either tuesday or wednesday (26 or 27--though 26 would be more appropriate since peeps will get early bday gifts)...this is just MY thoughts---which sound logical, but-----------
(and yeah pol...I gave the link and didnt close this one since that talk went in a totally different direction--but it was a fyi).

Thanks cosyfiep appreciate it. I reckon they might double the event over the sweet weekend but I guess time will tell unless the Anet community staff care to enlighten us on this small matter.

I'm curious when the idiots spamming "WTB 6th year mini" start going at it 3 days early like they do every year.
Does anyone know if a present will show up in inventory if you are online or if you have to log off and on again?
As usual, it's my annual "Bitch-and-moan-that-I-once-had-a-full-account-of-beta-characters-and-deleted-them-all-but-three" session...

This weekend is apparently Codex Arena Bonus, so it looks like sweet treats will be on easter weekend as usual.
And as Cosyfiep said, most likely the birthday will began that tuesday or wednesday after

Wiki says the present will show up the next time you log in, so sounds like if you are logged in when your character's birthday would have been, it won't show up until you log off then back in again.
Sorry for your loss. My brother in law did something similar (not beta, but he bought the game when it came out, then deleted everything before they hit one year to start over again when I started playing.)

You don't have to log out all the way to get the present. Going to the character selection screen and back to the character who is expecting a birthday present will suffice.

How come Guild Wars Wiki states that e.g. the 3rd edition of the minipets got available on April 25 2008... As far as I can recall, I started playing on April 28th 2005, which was the very day the game was released. So how can there be 3-year-old characters on April 25 2008 or 4-year-old characters on April 26 2009 already? Probably my math or the release date is wrong or something like this... Haven't played in 3 years, so I'm sorry if this question has been asked 10383945 times, I just couldn't find a proper answer...

Ah okay, thanks. I didn't know that they could transfer their characters from the Beta to the final game.

Actually, everything was reset so that everyone would be on even footing when they first logged in. And before you ask, yes I was in all of the Beta Weekends....
When guild wars was first released if you bought A PRE-ORDER KIT you were also able to log in day(s) early. I cannot remember the exact time. After all, it was six years ago.
For those that are curious I picked the ithas bow....

This is correct. The pre-order kit allowed access to the retail game roughly 2 days early. I am expecting my 6th birthday gift on the 26th of this month - only 1 week!
I'll never forget how nice it was of ArenaNet to release GW during finals week...

I, unfortunately, deleted my pre-order 2-day early monk to make her again and help a friend who had just started Pre-Searing. My main character was started on the actual release date so I get to wait two days for my 6th birthday present.

Do you think the 6th-year birthday presents, especially when you offer them right on April 28 or so, will sell for a high price, even the white? I took a 4 year break from GW and now came back right in time to pick up my 6th minipet probably on April 27 if my math is right. Will people be buying them right away for high prices or rather wait till May/June, when 6th year minipets will be more common? Since the last anniversary I witnessed as an active player was the 2nd one, I don't really know whether the new pets will be as coveted as they were back in 2006 and 2007, especially with the introduction of that HoM thing that should actually make them more popular and increase the demand, if I understand it correctly...

You make a good point. The real popularity of mini pets has decreased somewhat. I find it interesting that an undedicated Kuunavang is selling around 35-40 ectos. Before HoM a Kuuny was at least 60 ectos and sometimes more.
5th year white minis were going for around 100K in the first few weeks of trading last year and maintained prices of up to 50K for most of the year. This could mean that there will be fairly high prices for the 6th year minis still. There are still collectors out there that want them all. I think that there are less of them around so it is going to take a bit longer to sell. Prices will probably fall faster than in previous years also.

An unded Kuunavang was not worth 60e+ before the HoM. Back before the UW updates drove up the price of ecto it was worth around that, but it was the huge change in ecto prices that changed the price of Kuunavang, not HoM. It's actually worth more now because ecto are twice as much as they were then.
And since there are people looking for 50/50 in their HoM, plus people who just plain collect stuff like minis, yes, there will be a market for the new ones soon as they release.
